Get creative while feeding the birds. You’ll need: large pinecones, a couple of cereal spoons, a small jar of honey, a variety of seeds of different colors (black-oil sunflower, cracked corn, red milo, and striped sunflower seeds), tan colored twine, and a craft towel. Get going: First, go on a neighborhood walk to collect pinecones of different shapes (some tall, some wide). Then grab a spoon and drizzle a thin layer of honey onto each pinecone. Next decorate pinecones, pasting one seed at a time with colorful patterns: black, yellow, red, gray (fun for all ages). Last, double-tie a 12-18 inch piece of twine to the top of each pinecone and hang on a nearby tree branch.
